Beach Sandals: On The Beach And Off
When the sun is shining and the temperature is rising, you start to get the summertime feeling. It’s time for fun and you know that carefree feeling, long evenings out and spending time with friends is the order of the season. Keeping cool and enjoying yourself and your two main concerns.
Of course at this time of year, everyone needs a good pair of beach sandals. Whether or not you even live near the beach is not a consideration. You don’t have to be a beach bum to wear beach sandals; they are simply the most comfortable and casual of footwear for the summer and are practically mandatory in every wardrobe.
Beach sandals come in such a wide variety of styles, colors and are made of so many different materials that they really cover quite a wide array of different sandals. Although you might think of beach sandals as the most basic flip flop type of shoe, there are many different types beside those that are also considered beach sandals.
In some cases a beach sandal is designed to be worn both in and out of water. Although this isn’t always true, it is certainly nice while on the beach not to worry about the material your footwear is made out of being damaged by the salt water. For this reason most beach sandals are made of waterproof materials or other fibers that can get wet, dry quickly and maintain their shape, color and remain undamaged.
Sandals made for beach wear also have to be easy to get sand out of. If you’ve ever worn shoes or even sandals with a lot of foot coverage on a sandy beach before you’ve probably experienced having shoes full of sand. This is very uncomfortable as it makes your feet heavy and as you walk you are likely to spray out large amounts of sand from your feet. Not really all that cool. Beach sandals have little coverage and sand can easily go through the sandal without getting stuck on thick straps or bands.
You want your beach sandals to be light and flexible. Your feet should be able to move freely in them, and the sole should not be at all stiff or restrictive to your foot. It should be able to form to the sand as you walk. Also, the sole needs to be rubber or some other non-slick surface so they are easy to walk in.
Even if you don’t actually plan to spend time on the beach making use of the design of your beach sandals, you will still find them to be among the most comfortable, cool and casual of summer footwear. They will give you that carefree summer feeling, on the beach or off.
